Today has been a day filled with work!

When I woke up, I immediately started editing my homepage.  I have been working pretty religiously on it the past few days, and I’m think I’m finally happy with how it looks.  Let me know what you think :).

Work was definitely fun.  Normally, I’m always on the register, but today I was able to be on the line again making food.  I haven’t done that in so long, and it was definitely a nice break.

So speaking of breaks, while I was on my break, I overheard a few people talking about juicing.  They were talking about the price and whether or not they thought they should invest in it.

I so badly wanted to jump in and say my opinion, but instead, I’m going to tell you guys :)

So here’s the big question: To juice or not to juice?

So I’m going to put together a pros and cons list:

Pros:

1. Juicing provides you with a ton of nutrients in one drink

2. It’s easy to drink

3. It can be customized to taste

4. The nutrients are more easily absorbed since they’re already broken down.

So those are some great pros right?  Now lets get into the cons:

1. It is very expensive… You’d want to buy a very nice machine, and then you’ll have to buy a lot of extra ingredients every week to be broken down into juice.

2. A ton of the nutrients are actually in the parts of the fruit that are discarded as a result of juicing

3. It can be a pain to clean

So I would say there are more pros than cons to drinking nutrition drinks, but what if there was a way for all of the cons to become obsolete?

I’ve heard a lot about nutrient juicing with a blender, and I just so happen to own a Vitamix myself.  No, I am not being paid to write this, but once you buy a vitamix, you can’t help but rave about it.

The benefit to using a blender is that it will break everything down into a drinkable form.  I know you can even blend the pit of an avocado if you wanted!  Also, it cleans itself and it can be used for pretty much anything besides just nutrient juicing.

So there go all those cons :).

Now, if you happen to have a vitamix or at least are looking to invest in one, I am going to share with you one of my favorite recipes.

Note, this makes a ton, so what I do is put the rest in the fridge to have for during the week. So really, you only have to make it once every few days.

Simply take all the ingredients

Blend them together

and you’re done!

Of course enjoy and have a good night :)

If you’re not into green smoothies, I think you’ll be into this…
